Welcome

I am very pleased to welcome you and your child to our school.

Being at Primary School is one of the most important times in a child’s life and I would like to assure you that at our school, all staff will do their best to nurture your children so that they grow in self-confidence allowing them to engage with all that we have to offer. I feel sure that you will find our school a calm and friendly place where you will always be made to feel welcome.

Mrs Becky Smith
Headteacher

At St Michael’s we will expect all children to work hard and be conscientious so that they may gain the maximum advantage from their time spent with us. All staff will help children to develop self-discipline, a sense of responsibility and respect for others and their property. We will also expect a high standard of work and behaviour and the children’s active involvement in both.

Parental support is vital in achieving these aims and we will do our best to develop a positive working relationship between home and school. The support and encouragement you give your child is important if they are to have a positive and effective attitude to learning.

Visits to our school are welcomed so do contact the school office for further information.

Our Story

In September 2012, after several years of planning and a lot of hard work from a small and dedicated team, St. Michael's Church School opened its doors for the first time.  On day one, we successfully welcomed 14 children into two new classes: Reception and a mixed Year 1/2 class.  Since then, our school has grown from strength to strength and now supports, nurtures and challenges over 300 children every day across 11 classes from Reception to Year 6.

Ethos & Values

At St. Michael's, we aim to serve our rapidly developing community by providing a full and rounded education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. We strive to encourage an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promote the key Christian values including mutual respect for all.  Read more about our core values below.

The Future

Our future is definitely bright!  In February 2017, we took possession of the second phase of our building project enabling us to grow to an eventual 14 classes: 2 per year group.  This has given us the physical capacity to expand the range of services and provisions we can offer our school and local community.  We have our sights firmly set on excellence, pushing boundaries and giving all of our children the very best life experiences possible.
