Caterpillars - EYFS

In Early Years we understand that each child is unique and our aim is to support and enhance your child’s development. We will do this by providing your child the opportunity to immerse themselves in a supportive and enabling environment, where each child is celebrated for the unique little person they are. Learning will be hands on, active and immersive but most importantly FUN!

This term, we have all been settling into school, learning the rules, routines and how to keep safe. We will continue to embed this knowledge throughout the term and beyond. Our topic focus for this term is ‘Amazing Me!’ We will dive into learning about all of the things that make us individuals and why that is so important. Throughout the term, the children will have many opportunities to explore and develop, through art, music, dance and drama. We have also just begun learning all about Phonics. In school we are using a new phonics scheme, called ‘Little Wandle’. Further details of this exciting learning opportunity can be found on the school website.

PE lessons are on a Wednesday and Friday. So please don’t forget to send your Ladybird to school wearing their PE uniform on these days.

Your child’s first year in school will be an exciting one and to help cement the home, school relationship we will be keeping you informed of their journey through the use of Tapestry. Not only will you be able to view some of the amazing learning opportunities your child experiences whilst at school, but by adding your own adventures from home we can work together to produce a one off journal that you will be able to cherish for years to come.
