You can help to slow the spread of Coronavirus

Make sure you and your children follow these general principles to prevent spreading any respiratory virus:

  • Wash your hands often – with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or an alcohol-based sanitiser if soap and water aren’t available.
  • Please click here to access NHS video showing the most effective way of washing your hands
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • If you feel unwell, stay at home and don’t attend work or school.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a disposable tissue, then throw the tissue in a bin.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces in the home.
  • If you’re worried about your symptoms, please call NHS 111 – don’t go directly to your GP or other healthcare environment.

  • Covid Updates

    Published 18/03/20

I just wanted to write to you briefly to inform you about the COVID position at St.Michael’s as we have had a number of positive cases now. To date we have 7 positive cases of pupils and 2 members of staff. These cases can be linked and are currently within Year 3, Year 4 and Year 6.

Following current guidelines, we are not able to close year groups or classes unless instructed to do so by Public Health. The number of cases across Peterborough continues to rise matched with very low uptake of vaccines which is making the spread of this variant rapid.

    • Please take a look at the attached information leaflet from Peterborough City Council.
    • Please be extra vigilant in observing symptoms (High temperature, persistent cough and loss of taste and smell) in your children and get them a PCR test if you have any cause for concern.
    • Please continue to notify us immediately if you have a positive test result for your child. There is a dedicated 24/7 voicemail link via the School telephone number (01733306778)  which automatically directs to me, so that I am able to pick up notifications after school and at weekends.

If you would like this information in your home language, please contact the school office and we will be able to help you.

Thank you for your continued support.
