Science Week

And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and be the master over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:26-28

As God's children, we have a responsibility to look after God's world. In Genesis, the Bible describes the world as 'good' and once humans were created 'very good'. However, over the many, many, many years humans have destroyed God's wonderful world and it is becoming very serious in terms of sustainability and survival.

In our Science weeks, we focus on issues that are becoming bigger and start to question what next? We have looked at Plastic Pollution, Global Warming and Renewable Energy.

Below are examples of our 'Global Warming' week. The children had to design posters warning of the dangers of the world warming up.

At the bottom of the page, you will see how we tried to make a difference - we had to cycle on a bike to try and generate enough electricity to keep the school going with light, heating and electricity. We knew that it would not an easy task but the children all enjoyed trying to pedal fast enough to generate energy. It may not be permanent solution but it gave us an understanding of how much we use in one day at school.
