Black History Month

This year, our theme for Black History Month was “The Importance of Freedom”. Across the school, every child learned about the remarkable life of Mary Prince—a courageous woman whose story played a vital role in the fight against slavery and helped change the world. Her resilience and determination make her an inspiring figure and a perfect focus for our learning this year.

Our pupils in ks1 and ks2, explored her life through discussion, research, and creative activities, producing thoughtful work that reflects both her struggles and her achievements. We are proud to share some of the fantastic pieces created by our children—take a look at the pictures below to see how they brought history to life!
