St Michael’s Church School is delighted to have been recognised as an excellent school following its Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) inspection. Inspectors praised the school’s deeply rooted Christian vision, describing it as “inspirational and aspirational” and highlighting the way it changes lives and enables both pupils and adults to “be the best they can be.”
The report celebrates the school’s ambitious curriculum, strong relationships and inclusive culture, recognising that pupils are encouraged to become curious, reflective and confident learners. Inspectors noted that no pupil is left behind, with barriers actively removed so that all children, including those with SEND and those learning English as an additional language, are supported to thrive and succeed.
Collective worship and Religious Education were both judged to be excellent, with worship described as being “at the heart of school life” and RE praised for being creative, engaging and highly effective in developing pupils’ understanding of different beliefs and cultures.
The inspection also recognised the school’s strong sense of community and its commitment to serving others through local, national and international partnerships. Inspectors highlighted the generosity, compassion and care shown throughout the school community, alongside the positive impact St Michael’s has within the wider community.
We are incredibly proud of this outcome, which reflects the dedication, care and commitment of our pupils, staff, governors, families and wider community. The report affirms St Michael’s as a welcoming and nurturing school where every child is encouraged to flourish academically, spiritually and personally.
