Be the best that we can be

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though working for the Lord" Colossians 3:23
Welcome
Mr Mike Harrison
Executive Headteacher
I am very pleased to welcome you and your child to our school.
Being at Primary School is one of the most important times in a child’s life and I would like to assure you that at our school, all staff will do their best to nurture your children so that they grow in self-confidence allowing them to engage with all that we have to offer. I feel sure that you will find our school a calm and friendly place where you will always be made to feel welcome.

Hot Hot Hot
As the days are heating up please can we ask that you apply sunscreen to your child/ren at home. If you wish to send suncream in with your children, they must be able to apply it themselves. We are not able to do this for them.
Some children are arriving with sunglasses and whilst these look cool, they have a habit of getting lost or damaged so we would prefer for these to remain at home.
We know it is hot, but please can we ask that children not come to school in open toe sandals. School shoes keep those toes safe.
Sunhats and water bottles are a must too!

Our Story
In September 2012, after several years of planning and a lot of hard work from a small and dedicated team, St. Michael's Church School opened its doors for the first time. On day one, we successfully welcomed 14 children into two new classes: Reception and a mixed Year 1/2 class. Since then, our school has grown from strength to strength and now supports, nurtures and challenges over 414 children every day across 13 classes from Reception to Year 6.
At St Michael’s we will expect all children to work hard and be conscientious so that they may gain the maximum advantage from their time spent with us.
All staff will help children to develop self-discipline, a sense of responsibility and respect for others and their property. We will also expect a high standard of work and behaviour and the children’s active involvement in both.
Parental support is vital in achieving these aims and we will do our best to develop a positive working relationship between home and school. The support and encouragement you give your child is important if they are to have a positive and effective attitude to learning.
Visits to our school are welcomed so do contact the school office for further information.
Ethos, Values & Vision
"At St Michael's we are a church school family - actually living each day, all that a family might uphold and instil. We want the very best for everyone in our school and community regardless of whether they are a child or an adult; we nurture gifts and talents and closely support those areas of living and learning together that might be that bit harder to achieve. We actively encourage children and staff to grow as kind, compassionate people who show perseverance and resilience as they work towards achieving their full potential. This we find, makes children and adults very happy to come to our school every day and we enjoy working together and being a positive influence on each other's lives."
Therefore our vision is:
"To Be the Best that we can be."
